Xi calls for stable U.S.-China ties and announces pandas during White House welcome
At a White House welcome ceremony before talks with Donald Trump, Xi Jinping urged China and the United States to cooperate, avoid conflict and keep competition within bounds. He also proposed AI safeguards and other forms of cooperation, and announced that two pandas would arrive at Zoo Atlanta and that China would invite 100,000 young Americans for exchanges over five years.
