How this site works

Hear it from the countries involved. Glade shows how the countries at the centre of a story are reporting it. For each major international story, it gathers coverage from outlets in the countries involved and around the world (43 outlets in 26 countries so far), and puts their headlines and statements side by side, in their own words, linked to the original reporting.

Glade News is a non-commercial research prototype.

Headlines and short excerpts come from the outlets, and each links to the original article. Photos and logos load from the publishers' own sites.

The rest comes from an automated language-processing pipeline. Classifiers sort the articles and match reports that cover the same event. Language models pick out who said what, translate non-English headlines, and write the titles, summaries and short descriptions from the outlets' reporting. Nobody reviews individual pages, so there will be mistakes.

The outlets are the ones whose feeds we can read. They are not a representative sample of the world's press. Descriptions say what an outlet reported, not whether it was right.

We don't train AI models on the articles. This site sets no cookies; it counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't track you across sites.
